The Prime Minister sent the following message to
President Tito of Yugoslavia on the occasion of the
death of the Prime Minister of Yugoslavia, Mr. Bijedic
and his wife in a plane crash on 19 January:
" On behalf of the Government and people of
Australia and my own behalf, I offer sincere
condolences on the sad loss which Yugoslavia
has suffered by the tragic death of the Prime
Minister and Mrs. Bijedic.
We recall their visit to Australia in 1973.
Could you please convey the sympathy and
condolences of myself and my Government to
his bereaved family."
