WORKING PARTY TO ESTABLISH A NATIONAL ADVISORY BODY OF WOMEN
A Working Party has been set up to draw up recommendations
for the Government to set up a national advisory body of women.
Following agreements made at a series of meetings between
himself and women's organisations in early September, the
Working Party was elected in a ballot by the 24 groups attending.
The members of the Working Party are:
Mrs Beryl Beaurepaire, O. B. E.
Miss Ruth Ross
Ms Pat Harper
Mrs Valerie Fisher -Federal Women's Committee
Liberal Party of Australia
-Business and Professional.
Women's Association
-National Council for Pie
Single Mother and Her Child
-Country Women's Association
of Australia
The Working Party will be serviced by the Women's Affairs Branch
of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The Working Party will be responsible for presenting recommendations
on the size, role, representation and functions of a national
advisory body to me and will consult as widely as possible with
women's groups around Australia.
