The Prime Minister has sent the following message to the
Prime Minister of India:
It was with a sense of deep shock that I have learnt of the
full dimensions of the Chasnala coal mine disaster on
December 27.
On belialf of the Government and the people of Australia I
should like to extend our heart felt-sympathy to the Government
of India6 and the families of those who have lost their lives
in this national disaster.
If there is any particular form of assistance you require in
connection with the disaster we stand ready to assist.
