ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
The Prime Minister today announced that the Governor-
:,? teal had agreed to an amendment to the Administrative
i,-._ ngements Order to transfer to the Department of Urban
-egional Development those property and survey functions
zh were formerly carried out by the Department of Services
11z Property. The Governor-General also agreed to the name
t-e Department of Services and Property being changed to
-; rtment of Administrative Services. The former Minister
Services and Property, the Honourable F. M. Daly, M. P.,
vs subsequently appointed Minister for Administrative Services.
The Minister for Administrative Services will be
-s: onsible for:
Elections and referendums
Provision of accommodation, staff and other
facilities for members of the Australian
Parliament other than in Parliament House.
Australian Government transport and storage
facilities in the States and storage and
transport of goods in the A. C. T.
Australian Government purchasing policy;
the procurement and purchase of goods and
services as required for Australian Government
purposes, the maintainenance of stocks of
any such goods and the disposal of surplus goods.
Advisory services on fire protection matters.
Staff involved in the property and survey functions
th be transferred to the Department of Urban and Regional
