APPOINTMENT TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD
The Prime Minister, the Hon. E. G. Whitlam M. P.
announced tonight that the Governor General has appointed
Mr John Casey Taylor as a Commissioner of the Public Service
Board. Mr Taylor is aged 43 years and is currently First
Assistant Secretary in charge of the Protection Policy
Division of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
He is a career public servant having joined the Australian
Public Service in 1953 as a Personnel Cadet. Mr Tay]. or
has served in a variety of Departments including the Department
of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the former Department of
Trade and Industry, the former Tariff Board, and the Public
Service Board. Mr Taylor is a graduate of Melbourne University
and holds the degree of Bachelor of Commerce.
It is expected that Mr Taylor will take up duty
at the Public Service Board on 9 December 1974.
