APPOINTMENTS TO THE INDUSTRIES ASSISTANCE
COMMISSION
The Prime Minister, Mr. Whitlam, announced today
the appointment of Mr. F. Pascoe, Dr. R. Dun and Mr. C. Grace
as Associate Commissioners of the Industries Assistance
Commission. Mr. Pascoe who was recently appointed an Associate
Commissioner for the inquiry into the clothing industry has
had his term of appointment extended for a period of five
years from 1 January 1975. Mr. Pascoe has had extensive
experience as a senior executive in manufacturing companies
and organisations. He is Chairman of Directors, Australian
Development Ltd., and a director of a number of other
companies. He was President of the South Australian Chamber
of Manufacturers in 1972-73, and is the first President of
the Amalgamated Chamber of Manufacturers and Chamber of
Commerce, South Australia. Mr. Pascoe is currently Deputy
President of the Associated Chambers of Manufacturers of
Australia. Dr. Dun has been appointed for the inquiry into
the financing of rural research. Dr. Dun has had extensive
experience in agricultural research and is currently
Assistant Director-General N. S. W. Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Dun's services have been made available to the Industries
Assistance Commission by the Premier of New South Wales, Sir
Robert Askin. Mr. Grace has been appointed for the inquiry into the
by-law admission of heat transfer printing paper. Mr. Grace
was recently re-appointed an Associate Commissioner on a
temporary basis in order to finalise a number of other inquiries
on which he is engaged.
