REFERENCE TO INDUSTRIES ASSISTANCE COMMISSION
The Acting Prime Minister, Mr Connor, announced
today that he hed forwarded a reference to the Industries
Assistance Commission on whether Australian production of
railway locomotives should be assisted against competition
from the importation of second-hand locomotives. The Commission
has been asked to furnish its report by 28 February 1975.
Mr Connor said that this reference was additional
to the general reference on the rolling stock industry
forwarded to the Commission on 20 September 1974. The
Commission is due to report on that reference by 31 March 1976.
