NICARAGUAN EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr E. G. Whitlam, announced
O today that Australia is to give assistance worth $ A25,000 towards the
relief of the victims of the Nicaraguan earthquake.
O Mr Whitlam said he was appalled to learn of the extent of the
damage and loss of life caused by the earthquake.
Australians would, he said, join with him in conveying their
heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Nicaragua.
