WEDDING GIFT
The Governor-General and Lady Hasluck have made a
personal gift of twelve hand beaten copper sherry chalices to
Her Royal Highness The Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips
for their wedding next Wednesday.
The wedding gift from the Australian Government and
People of Australia to Her Royal Highness The Princess Anne
and Captain Mark Phillips consists of twelve hand beaten copper
wine chalices and twelve hand beaten copper beer mugs in inscribed
copper presentation cases made from Mount Isa copper.
The gifts were sent to the Australian High Commissioner
in London who arranged for their presentation to The Princess Anne
and Captain Phillips.
Copper plaques in the cases containing the gifts from
the Government and People of Australia re inscribed as follows:-
