AUSTRALIAN FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL
The Government will make grants totalling
$ 19,270 as part of its programme of assistance to
film and television in Australia. The grants were
recommended by the Interim Council for the Australian
Film and Television School.
The grants will go to:-
1. ROLAND CANTLEY of Thursday Island, Torres Strait-,,
North Australia $ 3,000 to assist him in the
preparation of the final shooting script and
provisional narrative script for the film
" The Last Great Barrier Reef".
2. SYDNEY FILMMAKERS CO-OPERATIVE $ 15,000 to
assist the establishment of a full-time
film centre in the Sydney city area.
3. CHERYL PULLEN of Hooker Creek, Via Darwin,
Northern Territory $ 745 to assist with
fees and the cost of film-. stock and processing
for courses of study related to her work in
introducing film and video techniques for use
by aboriginal teachers and children.
4. GEORGE ANDERSON of 572 Glynburn Road, Burnside,
South Australia, a senior lecturer at
Flinders University $ 525 to cover living
expenses for three weeks research at the
Institute of Arts, California.
