PRIME MINISTER TO ATTJEND EISENHOWER
FUNERAL
The Prime Minister, Mr Gorton, will represent Australia
at the service in Washiington on Monday fAr the late President
Eisenhower. Mr and Mrs Gorton will leave for the United States as
scheduled late this afternoon.
While in Washington, Mr Gorton will be received by the
President, but his official talks with Mr Nixon have been postponed.
It is expected that the Prime Minister will meet senior members of
the Administration. He will then go on to Ottawa as planned for
his talks with the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr Trudeau, on
Thursday. The discussions with President Nixon will be rescheduled
for the earliest mutually convenient date possible.
