It was announced in London last night that the Duke of
Ir Edinburgh, who is to visit Australia in May to attend the Third Commonweath
Study Conference, will also visit New Zealand.
Background Note on Visit to Australia
The Duk-e of Edinburgh will open H. R. H. The Duke of
21dinburgh's Third Commonwealth Study Conference in Sydney on
Monday, 13th May. His Royal Highness will also attend the Closing Session
of the Conference in Melbourne on Monday, 3rd June and will leave
Australia on the following day ( Tuesday 4th June;,.
It Is within this period that the visit to New Zealand
ios tkeplaeA programme of engagements in draft form is being
prepared for The Duke of Edinburgh's Australian visit, and an announcement
of these details will be made after the proposals have been submitted to
and accepted by His Royal Highness.
