VISIT BY THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF
MA LAYSIA
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
The visit to Australia next month by the Deputy Prime
Minister of Malaysia, Tun Haji Abdul Razak bin Hussain, will be a
means of further strengthening and deepening the good relations already
existing between our two countries.
Tun Razak will arrive in Australia on Thursday, 13th
April following a four-day visit to New Zealand, and will lea,, e cx.-gain
for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, 23rd April. He will be a guest ofI the
Australian Government. Tun Razak, who is also Minister for Defence and
Minister for National and Rural Development, will be making his first
visit to Australia. He will go to Canberra and most State capitals and
will have discussions with Ministers. He will also meet some of the
many Malaysian students studying in Australia. My colleagues and I
have been looking forward to Tun Razak's visit for some time. The visit
will give me personally an opportunity to renew the earltier contact I
have made with Tun Razak, the most recent of which was in Kuala Lumpur
last year.
