GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO VISIT BRITAIN
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
With the concurrence of the Government, the
Governor-General and ' he Lady Casey will leave Australia towards the
end of April for a short visit to Britain. They expect to be away from
Australia for five or six weeks.
The Governor -General will report personally to
Her Majesty whilst he is in London.
Lord and Lady Casey will travel to and from Britain
by air but date of departure and other details have not yet been settled
The Government of the Commonwealth will be
administered by His Excellency Sir Edric Bastyan Governor of South
Australia whilst Lord Casey is abroad. Sir Edric holds a Dormant
Commission from The Queen and is the senior State Governor in terms
of years of service in his office.
