PRIME MINISTER SEES VICTORIAN PREMIER
The Prime Minister Mr Holt Lhad a thirty-minute
discussion with the Premier of l'ictoria, ir Henry Bolte, in
Melbourne this morning.
During the meeting, which was held at the Prime
Minister's Office, Sir Henry gave Mr. Holt a survey of
Victoria's financial difficulties.
The talks were a result of a re qxest for a
meeting , made by the then Acting Premier, Mr. Rylah on the
Preiers behalf while Sir Henry was overseas. STir Henry
announced his request for talks with the Prime Minister on
long-term aspects of his State's financial problems when he
arrived back from overseas recently.
At today's meeting, the Victorian Premier sought
further joint talks between the Prime Minister, hims~ 1f and
the Premier of New South Wales, Mr. Askin. Mr. Holt said
he would discuss this proposal'with his Cabinet colleagues
when they met in Canberra tomorrow.
