TALKS WITH THE BRITISH SECRETARY OF STATE

by the Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies
The British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs,
Mr. Stewart, and the British Secretary of State for Defence,
Mr. Healey, will be visiting iashington on 27th January for
talks with the American Government.
These talks are in connection with the British Defence
Review which is now proceeding and follow discussions which the
British Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Hililson, had in '-ashingtan
recently with President Johnson. After.: ards 1r. Healey will
fly on to Canberra for discussions with Australian and New
Zealand Ministers. Mr. Healey is expected to arrive on 31st
January The Governments mentioned, all being interested in
the Far East, have been keeping one another continuously
informed of their thinking on the security problems of the
