FOR PRESS ROYAL VISIT 1964
It was announced in Canberra today that Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother had been pleased to approve
the appointment of Mr. M. R. Lamshed, Assistant
Editor of the Adelaide " Advertiser", as the Commonwealth
Public Relations Director for her visit to Australia next
year. BACKGROUND NOTE:
Mr. Maxwell Robert Lamshed was born in 1902 at
Mt. Gambier, South Australia. He received kks education
at the Mt. Gambier High School and later at the University
of Adelaide. Mr. Lamshed was Chairman of the Press, Radio and
, Yewsreel Committee in Adelaide for the visit of Her Majesty
The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to
South Australia in 1954, and also when Her Majesty Queen
Elinabeth The Queen Mother visited Adelaide in 1958.
Earlier this year Mr. Lamshed was the South Audtralian
' O--Danisation's Public Relations Officer for the
visit of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke
of Edinburgh to Adelaide.
He is married with two sons and two daughters.
