RE-APPOINTMENT OF SIR ERIC HARRISON
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert
Menzies
The Right Honourable Sir Eric Harrison,
is to be re-appointed as Australian
High Commissioner in Britain for a further term until
October, 1964. Sir Ericts current appointment
is to 25' th October, 1963 and, with his concurrence, the
Government has decided to renew the appointment for a
further period of twelve months. Sir Eric was first
appointed as High Commissioner in 1956.
I am grateful to Sir Eric for his agreement
to serve the Government for this further period.
It is expected that Sir Eric will return
to Australia for consultations with the Government in
October next.
