ECONOMIC CONSULTATIONS WITH INDUSTRY
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rto Hon. Sir Robert
Menzies
The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies,
announced today that the Government will hold a further
series of Economic Consultations in mid-Julyo The
Government has had valuable discussions with representatives
of industry on three occasions over the past year or so,
and is arranging the present meetings on the eve of
Ministerial consideration of the 1963/ 64 Budget,
The consultations will take place in Canberra
on Monday and Tuesday, 1ith and 16th July.
For the discussions on 15th July, the following
organisations have been invited
Associated Chambers of Manufactures of Australia
Associated Chambers of Commerce in Australia
Australian Council of Retailers
Australian Bankers' Association
National Farmers' Union of Australia
Australian Woolgrowers: and Graziers' Council
Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation
Australian Primary Producers' Union
Master Builderst Federation of Australia
Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
Australian Council of Trade Unions
On the 16th July, the Government will meet
separately with
Manufacturing Industries Advisory Council
Export Development Council,
