PRESENTATION OF CHEQUE TO LEGACY
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert
Menzies
The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, this
afternoon presented to Canberra Legacy a cheque for
œ 1 910.17.4, being proceeds of the cricket match
between the Prime Minister's XI and the M. C. C. at Manuka
Oval on February 6. The cheque was handed to Mr. George
Kimlin, President of Canberra Legacy.
Also present at the handing-over wore the
President of the A. C. T. Cricket Association, Mr. C.
Morrison, Treasurrofthe Association, Mr. H. J. Beatty
and Mr. J. H. Fingleton, the former international cricketer
andcaptain of'tho Prine Minister's first team which played
against the West Indies in 1951.
