FLYING OF FLAGS ON GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert
Menzie s
TI-e Australian JFrLag will be flown on all working
days on Commonwealth Government buildings throughout
Australia. The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies has
expressed a wish that the Flag should be displaye. more
prominently and has asked all Departments to arrange to
fly the Flag from the main flagpole on such buildings
between 8 a. m. and sunset on working days.
On special days of national sorrow or rejoicing,
the procedure will be as follows
Days of national sorrow the Flag on the
main flagpole to be lowered to half-mast
as previously.
Days cf nntional rejoicing additional
Flags to be flown on all other flagpoles
on the building or in its vicinity.
