HIGH COMMISSIONER'S TERM EXTENDED
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon, R. G. Menzies
The Rt. Hon. Sir Eric Harrison, K. C. M. G.,
has been re-appointed as Australian High
Commissioner in Britain for a further term until
October, 1963. Sir Eric was first appointed High
Commissioner in 1956 and has occupied the position
continuously since then. He was formerly a Minister of
the Crown and Member of the Commonwealth Parliament for
many years. I am grateful to Sir Eric for agreeing to
the extension of his appointment in a position in which
he has served Australia with great distinction.
