-Statement by the prime Minister, Rt. Hon. R. G. Menzies
The Prime Minister announced today that the Minister
for Defence, Mr. Townley, would be paying a short visit to
Indonesia. This would be a visit in return for the visit which
General Nasution and Mrs. Nasution paid to Australia last year.
The Prime Minister said it was regretted that,
because of the Election last year and the political situation
since, it had not boon possible for the courtesy visit to be
repaid before now.
Mr. Townley would leave for Djakarta in about ten
days' time and would be oway for approximately one w rdc.
