VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT THANKS " OR BUSIIFIRE
AID
Statement by the Minister for Supply, ( Hon. Allen Fairhall)
The Minister for Supply, Mr. Allen Fairhall, has
received from the Deputy Premier of Victoria,
Mr. A. G. RYLA. H., a letter.
Praising the work of Department of Supply officers
in the recent bushfires in the Dandenongs, Mr. Rylah
expressed the sincere approciation of the Victorian
Government. He said that the tanks and trucks provided by the
Department of Supply had been of inestimable value in
controlling the fires. Without them, the situation could
have been worse.
" The Chief Fire Officer of the Country Fire Authority
has spoken very highly of the efforts of the officers of
your Department and the fine spirit of co-operation they
displnyed", Mr. Rylah wrote.
He asked that his personal grateful thanks, and the
sincere appreciation of the Victorian Government, be conveyed
to all Department of Supply officers concerned for the part
they played in the disaster.
Mr. Fairhall said that it was most gratifying to receive
such praise of his Department! s officers.
