This morning the Prime Minister and several of his Cabinet colleagues discussed with representatives of the Export Development Council some of the issues confronting the Government, esp3cially where exports are involved.
The Council was represented by Sir John Allison, Chairman; Mr. Armstrong, Deputy Chairman; Mr. L. F. Atkinson, Chairman, Overseas Trade Fromotion Committee; Mr. C. G. McGrath, Chairman, :] port Consciousness Committee; and Mr. R. G. G. Parry Okeden, Chairman, Export Finance Committee. Mr. Menzies said that the Government attached great value to the work of the xport Development Council which, since it was appointed in .1958, had made a number of very useful suggestions, and that he and his colleagues welcomed the opportunity for frequent consultation with this body. He said that the Government would pay a great deal of heed to the suggestions made at the meeting of means by which exports might be expanded.
