These are magnificent gifts. They are most
appropriately made to the Australian Academy of Science,
which is a bouy of most distinguished Australian scientists,
and, as I know, is playing an increasingly important part in
the advancement of science in Australia.
Mro ecker is a man of means, with a high sense of
civic responsibility. ' is spectacular generosity, so
intelligently directed, deserves the greatest possible praise;
its value will continue for a long time,
