COMMONWEALTH CONTRIBUTION TO EMPIRE GAMES
Statement by thc! Prime Ministor, the Rt. Hon. R. G. Monzics
The Prie cMinisto-l', Mr. Menzies, has announced that
he has forwarded a cheque for Z100,000 to the Lord Mayor of
Perth, Sir Henry Howard, this being the Cofonwa-th
Govorn.-int's contribution towards the . xpensos of
conducting the British Empire and Corimonwealth Gcmos which
are to be held in Parth in November, 1962.
Mr. Mcnzios recalled that in l98 the Goverrmiont
had offered to roako this grant, prior to the selection of
Prth as the ve~ nue for the GanUIos.
