The Acting Prime Minister ( Pt. Hon. J. F. McEwen)
announced this afternoon that Cabinet hac decided that the
Government Aircraft Far-tory woulc be prime contractor for the
Yrench Dassault Mirage Fighter for the Royal Australian Air
Force. He said that the Government had invited the
Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation to manufacture the engine
and the wing and fin for the fighter.
, ir. McEwen said that the wing and fin represented
about one-third of the work on the total air frame.
