AUSTRALIAN LOAN IN GERMANY
Statement by the Prime Minister and Chairman
of the Australian Loan Council, Mro Harold Holt
The Commonwealth is negotiating the terms of a
public loan in Germany for an amount of 100 million Deutsche
Marks 22 million).
The loan will be underwritten by an international
banking syndicate managed by the Deutsche Bank Aktiengsellschafto
It will be Australia's first public issue in Germany.

NOTE: During the absence of the Treasurer ( Mr. McMahon)
overseas, Mr. Holt is Chairman of the Australian
Loan Council. This follows normal procedures
adopted when the Treasurer, whom the Prime Minister
customarily nominates as Chairman, is overseas.
