SENATOR GORTON TO BE ACTING MINISTER FOR
EXTLEANAL AFFAIRS
Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Menzies
The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, announced
today that, during the absence overseas of the Minister
for External Affairs, the Minister for Works, Senator
Gorton, would act as Minister for External Affairs.
Mr. Hasluck will leave Australia tomorrow on a visit
to countries in South East Asia, returning on 21st June.
He will again go overseas on 29th June, to be in London at the
time of the Prime Ministers' Conference, and return on 19th
