STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER, THE HON P J KEATING, MP
MINISTERIAL ARRANGEMENTS
I will be recommending the following ministerial appointments to the
Governor-General:
Senator Peter Cook is to become Minister for Industry, Technology and
Regional Development.
Senator Bob McMullan is to become Minister for Trade. He will also
continue as the Minister for Administrative Services.
Mr Michael Lee, MP will assume Senator McMullan's responsibilities for the
Arts. The Department of the Arts and Administrative Services will be renamed the
Department of Administrative Services. The Department of Communications
will be renamed the Department of Communications and the Arts.
A revised ministry list is attached.
The Governor-General has agreed to making these appointments and related
changes at 7.30 pm on Sunday 30 January.
