STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER, THE HON P.J. KEATING MP OFFICE ARRANGEMENTS

I am pleased to announce that Mr Geoff Walsh is to join my office as Principal Adviser
from next week.
Mr Walsh will replace Dr Allan Hawke, who has accepted an offer to become Deputy
Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Mr Walsh served as a press secretary and senior adviser to former Prime Minister
Hawke, and has most recently been First Assistant Secretary, Public Affairs Division,
in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
My Political Adviser, Mr Mark Ryan, will leave the office within a few weeks to take
up a position in private enterprise.
I welcome Geoff Walsh to my office, and wish Allan Hawke and Mark Ryan success in
their new positions.
