Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Menzies
The Forestry and Timber Bureau, formerly under
the control of the Department of the Interior, has now been
transferred to the Department of National Development. This
transfer is in keeping with the Government's intention to
concentrate the work of the Department of National Development
on the assessment and development of Australia 1s natural
resources. The management of forests in the Australian
Capital Territ'-, ory will remain with the Department of the
Interior,
