STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER, THE HON P J KEATING MP
MESSAGE TO MR ANDREAS PAPANDREOU
I have today sent the following message to Mr Andreas Papandreou following
his victory In the Greek elections:
On behalf of the Australian Government and people I would like to
pass on my warm congratulations on your 32lectiofl as Prime Minister of
the Hellenic Republic.
The traditionally good relationship tetween our countries is
strengthened by the large community of Australians of Greek descent
who form an integral part of Australia's multicultural society. I look
forward to working with you during your term as Prime Minister to build
on the solid foundation of relations betwee~ n Australia and Greece.
