The King of Tonga will visit Australia in September.
His Majesty, King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, will make a State visit to
Australia from 1-11 September.
It is the second official visit to Australia for His Majesty, who
was last here with Her Majesty the Queen of Tonga in 1979. The
King will be accompanied by his daughter, Her Royal Highness the
Princess Salote Pilolevu. The King has a long association with
Australia, having attended Newington College, Sydney, and
graduated in Arts/ Law from the University of Sydney.
The King will visit North Queensland, Sydney and Canberra and
attend World Expo 88 for Tonga's National Day on 10 September.
