the Prime Minister's XI against England at Manuka Oval,
Canberra, on 23 December 1986:

I am confident that this team will provide effective and
entertaining opposition for the English team, whose
performance and morale have obviously been lifted by
Ian Botham's outstanding effort in the 1st Test in Brisbane.
In a short period the Prime Minister's XI fixture has become
a highlight on the calendar of Canberra cricket lovers and I
am sure that this year's match will be no exception.
