I have sent thoe following message of congratulations to His Royal
Highaness The 1': ince Andrew and Miss Sarah Ferguson: o
' On behalf of the Government and people of Australia, I offer
sincere good w shes to you both on the happy occasion of your
marriage.' The wedding gilt from the Australian Government and people of
Australia is z sterling silver salver with gold wattle sprays in
relief around the rim, made by the Australian artist, Mr Stuart
Devlin, who drnigned Australia's decimal coins.
The inscription on the salver reads:
' Presented t-Nis Royal Highness The Prince Andrew and Miss Sarah
Ferguson with the good wishes of the Government and People of
Australia. 23 July 1986'
The gift was 6clivered by the Australian High Commissioner in
London to Buckingham Palace.
Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Stephen are in
London at tho invitation of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal
Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh for the marriage
ceremony.
