On behalf of the Government, I have sent a message of
congratulationa to the young Adelaide violinist, Jane
Peters, on winning the Third Prize in the 1986 Tchaikovsky
Competition in Moscow.
Jane's outstanding achievement in the face of international
competition ox the highest calibre follows the successful
European tour by the Australian Youth Orchestra in 1984. It
is a further convincing demonstration of the capacities of
young Australians to achieve excellence in the international
