JOURNALIST: What do you think you have to offer the ALP
here in WA?
PM: A very great record of achieventent in Federal Government
which has been in large part possible because of the cooperation
we have received from Premiers like Mr Burke.
JOU1| NALIST: Do you think you will able to offer the farmers
riry reassurance while you are here?
PM: we will be okkirig with them while we are here.
JOURNALIST: Will you be discussing the gold tax while you
are over here?
PM: I think everything is all right about the way the way
in which the gold tax enlquiry is being handled.
JOURNALIST: Is there any reason why you are not going to
the country Mr Hawke?
PM: I am in the hands of the people who are organising
the program here and the ALP have worked out what is best
for me Lo do. And I am in their hands.
JOURNALIST: Any good news for us on petrol prices?
PM: There will be no decision about that in advance of
the decision that has to be taken on the first of March.
