Mr Christopher Terence Hunt, of Canberra, has been
K appointed Deputy Commonwealth Ombudsman for a four-year
term. The office is a full-time statutory position, and
was previously occupied by Mr I. D. Emerton, whose term
expired on 2 April 1983.
Mr Hunt, 38, holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University
of Sydney. He has been a member of the Australian Public
Service since 1974, having held positions with the Public
Service Board and, most recently, as Senior Assistant
Ombudsman. Prior to 1974, he was a member of the New
South Wales Public Service, within the Premier.' s and
Attorney-General's Departments.
