In accordance with the Government's policy on honours,
I shall not be making any recorrarenations to Her Majesty
The Queen for awards under the Imperial honours system.
Awards under the Australian system of honours the Order
of Australia will continue. Recommendations for these
awards are made by the Council of the Order of Australia
and forwarded through the Governor-General to The Queen
for her approval. The next awards will be announced in
The Queen's Birthday Lists. The recommnendations for these
awards were made by the Council during the period of the
previous Government. The Government will be examining
A various issues relating to the operation of the Order
