APPOINTMENT OA'SECRETARY,
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESI'AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS
The Federal Executive Council has today approved the appointment
of Mr T. P. Hayes as Secretary, Department of Business and
Consumer Affairs.
Mr Hayes is currently Deputy Secretary, Department of
Defence. He has previously served ih the Department of the
Treasury/ Finance and in the former Department of Supply.
Mr Hayes succeeds Mr M. A. Besley as head of the Department
of Business and Consumer Affairs. Mr Besley i's on leave
pending retirement from the Service to take a position in
private industry. Mr Hayes will take up his new position
on 14 March 1982. ooo00ooo
