COMMONWEALTH GRANT TO SAINT ANDREWS CATHEDRAL,
SYDNEY, PRESTORATION APPEAL
The Prime Minister announced today that the Commonwealth

Saint Andrews the oldest cathedral in Australia
is a prime example of the work of Edmund Blacket,
the Victorian Gothic Revival architect, and occupies
a pre-eminent position in Sydney.
The appeal aims to raise $ 1.35 million for a cause
which is strongly supported by the National Trust,
and which is widely seen as an important step in the
preservation of our national heritage.
