FOR PRESS: ROYAL VISIT
The visit to Australia! ss ' Alexandra and
her husband Mr Angus Ogilvy to participate in the centenary
celebrations of the Melbourne Exhibition Buildings and to
open on Wednesday 1 October 1980 the Centenary Exhibition
and the new wing of the Exhibition Buildings, was announced
in London on Wednesday 27 February 1980.
At that time I said that the actual dates for the
visit had yet to be decided and that the itinerary would be
announced as soon as practicable.
I am now able to say that the visit will begin in
Canberra on Saturday 27 September and end in Perth on
Tuesday 14 October. Her Royal Highness has agreed to the
following itinerary:-Sat. Tue. Sun.
Wed. Sun. 27 Sep. to Tue.
30 Sep. to Sun.
5 Oct. to Wed,
8 Oct. to Sun.
1.2 Oct. to Tue.
Consultations are to take
State and Territory authorities to
engagements and those details will
have been obtained. 30 Sep.

12 Oct.
