Statement by the Prime MIni. ister ( Rt. HIon, R. G. Menzies)
The Governor-General has been advised that, after
her recent operation, Lady De L'Isle should undergo highly
specialised treatmento In the opinion of her doctors it is
advisable that she should go to London to receive it.
The Prime Minister has agreed that the Governor-
General should accompany Lady De L'Isle to London and Her
Majesty The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve.
The Governor-General and Lady De L'Isle i'ill
therefore leave Sydney by air with their family on Monda. y,
4bh June. They will return to Australia at the end of
September. In Lord De L'Isle's absence, the Government of
the Commonealth of Australia '. ill be administered by His
Excellency General Sir Dallas Brooks.
