ROYAL COM'MISSION
The Prime Minister announced today that on the recommendation
of the Government, His Excellency the Governor-General had
extended the terms of reference under which Mr Justice McGregor
had been appointed under the Royal Commissions Act to
conduct an inquiry into allegations about the Minister for Finance,
the Honourable Eric Robinson, in connection with the
last electoral redistribution in Queensland.
Under the further terms of reference, Mr Justice McGregor
has been asked to inquire into and report upon whether on
26 July 1977, at Beaudesert in the State of Queensland,
the Honourable Eric Robinson made any statement, and if so
what statement,, concerning the likely decisions of the
Commonwealth Government in relation to the mining of uranium
in Australia.
