ASEAN POST-SUMMIT MEETING
The Prime Minister announced today that he had accepted
an invitation from the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk
Hussein Onn, to attend a meeting of the leaders of the five
ASEAN countries and the Prime Ministers of Australia,
New Zealand and Japan.
The meeting will be held in Kuala Lumpur following the
ASEAN Summit meeting on 4-5 August.
Mr Fraser said that he was looking forward to his discussions
with the other Heads of Government. He expected the talks
to cover international and regional matters of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance placed by his
Government on cooperation with other countries in the South
East Asian and Pacific region.
He said that a-working group of officials will leave on
Monday to discuss preparations for the visit with ASEAN
and Japanese officials. 000000000
