CONFERENCES JITH INDUTRY
Statement by t0e Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. R. G. Menzies
The Government has decided to extend the range of its
present consultations with industry on the economic situation
in Australia. Arrangements have accordingly been made for three
additional meetings. The first of these -iill be held tomorrow
( Thursday, 25th January) at 10.30 aom. with representatives of
the Australian loolgrowers' and Graziers' Council, and the
Australian /, ool and Heat Producers' Federation. On Monday
29th January at 2,30 p. m. discussions will be held with
representatives of the Federated Chamber of Automotive
Industries, and on Tuesday, 30th January at 8.30 p. m. with the
Master Builders' Federation of Australia.
Meetings had already been announced but no dates
specified with the Export Development Council and the
Manufacturing Industries Advisory Council, These will now take
place on Thursday, 1st February, at 10.30 a. m. and 2.30 p. m.
respectively. The remaining two meetings yet to be held will be
-jith the National Farmers' Union on Tuesday, 30th January, at
10.30 a. m. and the Australian . Bankers' Association on Tuesday,
January, at 2.30 p. m.
