FOR PRESS GOVERNOR GENERAL'S VISIT
The Prime Minister announced today that, with the approval
of the Queen, the Governor General and Lady Kerr will leave
Australia next week on an overseas visit.
Their Excellencies will participate in the celebrations
being held in London to mark the Silver Jubilee of the
reign of Her Majesty, The Queen.
The Prime Minister said that he had also agreed that the
Governor General could extend his visit overseas to take
a period of leave
The Governor General and Lady Kerr will leave Australia. on
Monday, 25 April and expect o return on Wednesday, 15 June 1977.
The Prime Minister also announced that during the absence of
the Governor General from Australia, His Excellency Sir Roden
Cutler, Governor of New South Wales, will be Administrator.
Sir Roden Cutler will be sworn-in by the Chief Justice of
Australia at Government House on Tuesday, 26 April 1977.
