THE MINISTER ASSISTING THE PRIME MINISTER IN WOMEN'S AFFAIRS
FOR PRESS 13 JANUARY 1L977
WOMEN'S ADVISORY BODY WORKING PARTY
A Working Party recently set up by the Prime Ministert. to
prepare recommendations for the Commonwealth Governmetnt
on a Women's Advisory Body met today to arrange for wide
consultation with women and women's groups throughout:
Australia. This was announced today by the Minister assisting the
Prime Minister in Women's Affairs, Mr. Ian McPhee.
The working party, comprised of the following four
elected members Beryl Beaurepaire, Ruth Ross, Pat
Harper and Valerie Fisher was set up in December and
is hoping to report to the Government within the next
six months.
A programme is being prepared for these consultations
and will be publicised as widely as possible so that
interested persons and organisations can discuss their
views with members of the working party.
In addition, the working party is inviting written
Submissions from anyone who would like to express their
views or to be advised of consultations to take place
in their area.
